Hi,

Members of the Indian Jarawa tribe, who have managed to retain their way of life for thousands of years, are being threatened by "human safaris," in which nearly 200,000 tourists a year arrive to gawp at them. »

Can you imagine strangers paying to stare at you at your workplace or in your home? These safaris are blatantly exploitative: most Jarawa people have no desire to have contact with outsiders. But the tours don't just threaten the tribe's privacy; they threaten its very survival.

Because tourists don't just bring cameras. They also bring infections that the tribe has no resistance to. They bring greed: poachers are now taking the game that the tribe relies upon for food. And they bring violence: there are reports of tribal women being assaulted by these strangers.

This must not be allowed to continue. Tell the Indian government to crack down on the illegal practice of "human safaris" today. »

Thanks for taking action!
